Overview
Our maintenance division was engaged to rectify essential life safety systems which had failed inspection. Our focus at the John Holland Group project at Kings Square lies in rectifying fire-rated steel with inadequate protection against the elements. The visual narrative unfolds the meticulous repairs undertaken to ensure the integrity of the structure.
Background
Shield Against the Elements
Innovative solutions were employed to clad the steel with fire-rated board and Colorbond steel, strategically minimising disruptions for tenants. The project addressed rectification work on exposed intumescent, originally left un-topcoated during construction. To avoid office closures and disruptions to AC plants, PFM advised against proposed rectification works to the intumescent. The alternative solution involved cladding coated columns with PROMATECT 250, encapsulated with Colorbond steel for comprehensive weather protection.
